About Makers and Providers
After a gap year of travel in 1997 Makers & Providers (previously known as Alan Myerson Handcrafted) was born.
Al’s travels took him to places where some of the world’s most ancient and mystical cultures exist. From Lake Atitlan in Guatemala to the Andes of Peru and Ecuador, the tropical coast of Southern Mexico and the Atlas mountains of Morocco. Fortunately, he made it back from the Golden Triangle.
During his global search for uncrowded perfect waves Al met many travelling artisans. These personal connections with people making beautiful products, was the source of inspiration to curate a collection of quality handcrafted accessories.
Makers & Providers has evolved into a small, family run business based on the Mornington Peninsula in Victoria, Australia. Fair trade and longstanding personal relationships with artisans that have family run, cottage industry businesses just like ours is core to our ethical philosophy. More than ever these artisans in remote locations need our support. We are proud to work with them to bring their handcrafts to the world.
